Chandler Preschool and PDO

Rather than being lost in the crowd, we strive to create an atmosphere where your child is valued as God’s special creation. We would love to have your child join us as we learn, play, and love. We offer programs for babies through Pre-K. Each preschool class has both a lead teacher and assistant teacher.

Schedule

Tuesday and Thursday (9am -- 3pm)

Pre-K adds a half day on Wednesday (9 AM – 12:00 PM)

Calendar and Breaks

We follow Kearney Public School calendars for start and end dates and all major holidays.

The director will give parents a calendar of our scheduled breaks.

Weather Policy

Chandler Preschool and PDO programs will be closed if two of the three area schools (Liberty, Kearney, Excelsior) are cancelled. Safety is a priority, and the director may cancel if area road conditions are dangerous.

Mission

Chandler Preschool is an early childhood education program dedicated to providing a loving, caring, and safe Christian environment for your child. Our teachers use a weekly theme-based curriculum based upon Missouri Early Learning Standards. Our goal is to provide children with the opportunity to grow academically, as well as to develop spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Chandler Preschool is a ministry of Chandler Baptist Church, a non-profit organization.

Meet Director Karlan

Originally from Lathrop, I have lived in Liberty for 21 years. I have a degree in Social Work from Missouri Western State University. I have worked in a number of school districts, both as a substitute teacher and special education para professional. I spent many years working with at-risk youth teaching life skills and employment training.

In my spare time, you will find me camping with my husband Shawn, or kayaking across the lake. I am the mom of two adult children, and grandma of two amazing gifts, Avery and Reed.

I’m excited to be your Preschool Director, and look forward to a fun filled year!
